Children’s Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church begins with a well staffed, quality nursery for infants and toddlers. A safe, loving environment welcomes the smallest child into the Family of God.
NURSERY:
Located on the first floor of the Education building, our nursery had a complete renovation in 2011. The nursery is designed for newborn children through age two. Because little ones do better with consistency, our paid caretakers work in the nursery every Sunday from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. This includes both worship services and the Sunday school hour. Nursery care is also provided for special church services and events. If you are unsure if a nursery is provided for a particular activity, please call the church office at 388-1985.
Sunday School for Preschool-5th Grade:
WE ARE ORANGE
We Believe That Two Combined Influences Make A Greater Impact Than Just Two Individual Influences.
What is Orange?
This philosophy blends the light of the church (yellow) with the heart of the home (red) to create the perfect influence (Orange!) for the greatest impact on the faith development of our children.
Children gather in a large group for the first 15 minutes or so of the Sunday School time to hear a Bible story and a basic truth each week. They then go into their small groups for fun activities, practice of faith skills, and review of the story.
WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY STUDIES:
“Ready, Set, Worship!” (Wonderful Wednesday Activities)
At First Presbyterian Church we believe that worship is the response of the whole people of God-and that includes children! On Wednesday evenings, we focus our studies on worship participation and Biblical knowledge. We prepare children to fully participate in the worship service through instruction and nurture. We use learning centers and games to teach the different aspects of our worship service. We also focus on helping children learn to use their Bible.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer FPC hosts a week-long VBS to serve our children and those in our community. VBS takes a host of volunteers and there are opportunities big and small.
