Children’s Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church begins with a well staffed, quality nursery for infants and toddlers. A safe, loving environment welcomes the smallest child into the Family of God.

Located on the first floor of the Education building, our nursery had a complete renovation in 2011. The nursery is designed for newborn children through age two. Because little ones do better with consistency, our paid caretakers work in the nursery every Sunday from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. This includes both worship services and the Sunday school hour. Nursery care is also provided for special church services and events. If you are unsure if a nursery is provided for a particular activity, please call the church office at 388-1985.

Growing in Grace & Gratitude is rooted in the foundation of Presbyterian identity where God's grace and our gratitude are the heartbeat of our faith, life, and worship; extends an invitation to discipleship that inspires children to learn and practice  hospitality, generosity, and love; and reaches beyond Sunday morning, encouraging children to live their lives as an expression of God's grace.

This class is led by Ellen Ludwig and Wilmoth Foreman and is located on the first floor of the education wing, next to the nursery.

The multi age curriculum from Feasting on the Word brings together learners from ages five to twelve to explore and connect with our faith stories. Designed to encourage cooperative learning across a wide age range, children will explore scripture through storytelling, drama, and a variety of activities that appeal to various learning styles. This class is led by Susie Baxter and various volunteers.

“Ready, Set, Worship!” (Wonderful Wednesday Activities)
At First Presbyterian Church we believe that worship is the response of the whole people of God-and that includes children! On Wednesday evenings, we focus our studies on worship participation and Biblical knowledge. We prepare children to fully participate in the worship service through instruction and nurture. We use learning centers and games to teach the different aspects of our worship service. We also focus on helping children learn to use their Bible.

Vacation Bible School

Each summer FPC hosts a week-long VBS to serve our children and those in our community. VBS takes a host of volunteers and there are opportunities big and small.
